* When knot size is smaller than the table value, higher numbers of knots are allowed. However, the total of table knot sizes in mm (= amount of knots * diameter) must not exceed the limits for any knot types.
** Knot group includes at least four knots that are more than 12mm in size, and which are located within the same outside face and edges of a 150mm length portion. If knots are not separated from each other by a clear wood grain formation, they are considered as being one knot together and measured accordingly.
*** When a knot is loose from the surrounding wood material by at least ž of itīs size, it is classed as healthy.
**** When a knot is surrounded by the rind by a maximum of ž of its size, it is classed as a dry knot.
